 1. What you don’t need to know... well well well
... this was to be our debut cd. the one to open the doors, you know, or at least to open some hatches - and despite cassandra’s croaking nobody could have foreseen that it would turn out
to be a trap-door to a pit without pillows.well well.. we recorded DM&C in the studio of Joelen Mingi and Shay Astray -- you might know
the gorgeous couple from THE ANGINA PECTORIS or Nyctalopia Records -- and actually had a great time doing so. After all -- this would be our first (semi-)professional recording -- uh, now, at
least that’s what we thought. well. in fact I’m just listening to the four tracks again while writing this... and it’s really
gruesome, I tell you, a gauzy, ghastly gravedigger reminding me of a nasty time in Joelen’s bedroom (not what you think...), where we actually mixed the record after his studio had been
swallowed by the imp of the perverse, the three or four of us sitting on his bed while he mingled the sounds. Some time later, shortly before Nyctalopia Records passed away, too, we were freed from
the contract with them by a friend who had just started his own record label and publishing company, UpArt, and working with these guys from A.M. Music (by the way just another
pass-away-company by now) he helped us publish a record noone of us had listened to since we had finished mixing it some months ago. bad enough
, but the title of the record turned out to be the one and only match in this affair, the perfect blind date, the ideal deaf date if you like, for noone even checked the master-cd when it got
back from Berlin. thus what you get when you have the opportunity to purchase one out of the legendary legions of this mcd, is a rarity in more than one respect. let’s not talk too much about
the sound (actually the last two tracks sound just fine... ok ok, let’s say ‘ok’, no more than that...), let’s not talk about the layout, nor the tracklist (below...) -- let’s just say hello to chaos, cramps,
and casualties - here we are and there we go, sincerely yours - DARC ENTRIES . 2. The ones involved...
...in this record - on behalf of the band - were: Matthias Günzler - vocals
Jürgen Schips - keyboards + programming Michael Prinz - guitars Carsten Girke - bass

Die Maden Last Curtain
The Beginning Was The End
The Sanctuary DIE MADEN
the sky is grey and my eyes are suppurated and the card-house is before the decay the steel-door closed for many years and the cross is scaring -- over me the kid is really dead now
and the rain pattes onto the stuffed doll “Miss Smiley” on the tv-screen informed us happily of the 21st war of this world the faith is flying with the swallows away and noone is in hope for better days
the brain as empty as the shelves in Mostar and the chieftain will never be violated I noticed dark blood on my wall it’s slowly flowing down the cold long streets the tv’s benn on power for hours
and the intolerance’s been growing for many years the rain outside is going to be stronger and the stuffed doll is being drowned the faith is flying with the swallows away and noone is in hope for better days
and I’m running outside -- on the streets and I want to scream all of me out but I cannot do it, I lost my strength because the maggots have plugged up my throat, too! LAST CURTAINI’m walking through the rain I read your letter again tears fall upon your name but I want to be with you .....where are you?.....
THE BEGINNING WAS THE ENDdeaf, mute and crippled my feeling is my strength the dead are best to love
the beginning was the end my life is in the paper each morning the deeper I go the brighter they smile I’ve never heard a cry no lament ever reached my ears they call him Derais “we’re not to blame”
-- in fact it is them -- “I long for the kiss of your whip “I long for the pain “hit me harder -- make me bleed” -- thoughts sticking from glue -- the sparrow grows frightened
the street lights flicker in fear “they are so full of beauty - god, am I happy “-- it’s just like x-mas eve” they call him DeRais “we’re not to blame” --- steps approaching - “wake and arise - it’s me!
vintage 43 - not to bad heart so cold - the head so empty” -- only the worms can describe the dead -- “but you - I love you - I feel you - you’re so good” the whip’s kiss again - point your finger at me
point on it I’m so thirsty - so thirsty - I need life my thirst became so strong I cannot say how much I’m in love -- you’re scenting so sweet. THE SANCTUARY (schizophrenia simplex part one)I shiver in the night I’m crying like a child you take me in your arms and I forget all the years is this really love? or is it just a joke?
thoughts running through my head this night I’ll never forget -- with you you pulled me out of this swamp this swamp of solitude and fear you’re stopping my fast fall my fall in this gorge of pain
you rescued me from my jail I’ve been a prisoner of isolation all my life I want to reach the top -- with you this night I started to live again there was a time when I wanted to fade away...
I just need your hand and fade away -- I need your hand --
give me your hand -- cry, die, why? -- fade away -- fade away fade away. . .
